ATU’TUK
CARE AND RECOVERY HOME

We Are Committed to a Healthier Northern Uganda

Acholi sub region tops Uganda in poverty, with 64% classified as poor by Multi-dimensional Poverty. Healthcare in the area faces challenges due to limited services and a shortage of professionals, leading to high patient-to-staff ratios.

The Northern region, and Uganda overall, grapple with inadequate medical resources. Additionally, there’s a lack of community awareness for preventive healthcare measures, exacerbating the existing issues.

Addressing these multifaceted challenges is crucial for improving healthcare outcomes in the region.

As a Response to Urgent Healthcare Needs

Atu’tuk Care and Recovery Home (ACRH) was founded to address challenges in Northern Uganda, offering care, assisted living, and recovery support for those facing long sickness, post-hospital recovery, old age, disabilities, and cognitive issues.

ACRH aims to provide a home for individuals who cannot afford a quality life during tough times, focusing on the well-being of children and adults in need. Their mission is to create a supportive environment for those with diverse health conditions and learning disabilities.

Our Ambitious Plan for a Better Tomorrow

We have an ambitious vision and plan in place to realize our mission.

The vision for ACRH is to establish a state-of-the-art care home offering general and specialized services for seniors and disadvantaged children, addressing health needs in communities.

The plan involves constructing a facility with 300+ accommodations, administrative offices, a mini shopping mall, assisted living and medical care apartments, hotel rooms for visitors, and affordable housing for staff.

Making Quality Care Accessible

The mission of ACRH is to create a Care Home in Gulu City and other Ugandan regions, offering a network of Care and Recovery clinics.

A key focus is fostering strong partnerships with Paramedics, healthcare providers, Doctors, Medical associations, and service providers to enhance accessibility, affordability, reliability, and sustainability of post-hospital and recovery services for the communities of Northern Uganda and beyond.
